A humorous WW1 Pen and Ink Drawing of a small boy offering matches for sale to the Policeman.
Small boys sold matches at this time for '2 for a copper ( copper being a nickname for a copper penny or half-penny). A play on words with the nickname for a Policeman being a Copper.
The Blackout was in operation through the whole of WW1 so everyone was always in need of an extra light!
