A rare 1914 WW1 watercolour on card painting of a RNAS (Royal Naval Air Service) Training Flight on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent UK.
RNAS Pictures are always difficult to find as they made up only 10% of the aeroplanes in Britain's Military. The RNAS were the aviation arm of the Royal Navy and the more well known RFC (Royal Flying Corps) with 90% of the available aeroplanes was the British Army's aviation arm.
The two Services amalgamated into the third Service, the RAF, on April 1st 1918.
