A fabulous small watercolour painting of HMS Victory in Portsmouth Harbour before She was placed into dry dock for posterity in 1922.
Colonel L. G. Fawkes was born into a wealthy family and had a long career in the Army rising to the rank of Colonel. He is also a Listed Artist in the history books.
Fawkes was one of six pall bearers at Queen Victoria's funeral and an ancestor of Guy Fawkes.
